Flamenco! This word has always been associated with fire! Fiery people, fiery tempers, fiery music, fiery country. In fact, Flamenco is the result of one of the finest mixtures in the history of art – Jewish, Arab, Christian and Gypsy elements combined to form an unforgettable style. It emerged firstly in Andalusia and quickly spread throughout Spain. Flamenco incorporates singing, guitar playing, dance and clapping. It is so easily recognized, that it could be said without any doubt that it is one of the trademarks of Spain when it comes to culture.

Flamenco’s fiery rhythm inspired the Argentine type designer Carine de Wandeleer to create Flamenca Regular font and Flamenca Luz font. She achieved Flamenca’s authentic look by using glyphs and ornaments that lead us exactly to Andalusian patios and the Flamenco dance. Apart from that Flamenca font is a modern typeface family with 747 glyphs that offers many OpenType features as: swashes, standard and discretionary ligatures, alternates for each letter, catchwords, initial and terminal forms, ornaments that could be added to the beginning or the end of every letter etc. Language support is provided for all Western, Central and eastern European language. All this creates a whole lot of opportunities and practically endless combinations.
