Darwin font family is an original blending of grotesque, geometric and humanistic styles. Described as sans-serif face, Darwin’s look could vary from contemporary to classic & vintage, depending on the environment where it is exposed. Generally it is perfect for editorial design with its diversity of 10 weights + 10 italics, but actually its use spreads out in many other designs like food packaging, wine & spirits labels, book covers. When combined with right illustration, banners or frames, Darwin could be easily used for t-shirt designs, posters and because of its originality, some of you might find it good for logos. Increased x-height and smooth geometry are helping a lot for enhancing the legibility of the whole family. Darwin font is excellent choice if you decide to use it for e-books, mobile apps as well as for print publications – even in small sizes, poor contrast or low resolution, Darwin preserves its originality and what is more important – it’s easy to read. Using OpenType apps will unlock a lot of extra features like multilingual support, alternates, ligatures etc and you will actually have significantly more options to choose from when you use it.
