Trasandina is a modern sans-serif font family with unique appearance. If we assume that there are two extremities in typography – the humanist and the geometric ones, then we will find Trasandina font exactly in the middle. It is a fine combination between both which makes it a really multi-functional and a very reliable typeface. However, the most valuable feature of this font family is its flexibility which makes it perfect for numerous applications. On one side Trasandina font features great legibility even in the smaller sizes while, at the same time stays neutral. This effect can be noticed especially in the middle weights. On the other hand, mainly in the lighter and bolder weights, it has the personality required to be used for projects like posters and logos where the individual approach is essential. And there is even more good news for the potential users – by using hinting instructions Trasandina font was designed in such manner as to be perfectly adapted for web usage and work on different screen resolutions practically in all sizes.

Trasandina font family, being designed with the idea of versatility in mind, offers 9 styles – from extremely thin to very thick, all with their matching Italics. Each of the 18 weights includes more than 800 characters. Also a fair number of OpenType features are provided – among them alternatives, small caps, ligatures, extended currency symbols, 4 sets of numbers, case sensitive, arrows and more. Also, great multilingual support is provided for more than 200 Latin alphabet based languages.

Trasandina typeface is designed by the Uruguayan designer Fernando Diaz and is released by TipoType foundry. Fernando has long been dedicated to the type design and has gradually established himself as one of the leading professionals in South America. His great talent didn’t go unnoticed and he was invited to be a part of the jury at the greatest typographic event in Latin America – The TiposLatinos Biennale in 2014.
