Haptic Script is a hot new debut on MyFonts by the Hamburg based German designer Henning Skibbe. Mr. Skibbe, in his mid 30s, studied type design in Potsdam, Germany and Melbourne, Australia. Today he is a very skillful and highly experienced professional who works for many well known brands such as Süddeutsche Zeitung. Among his biggest projects is the new design and appearance of one of the most famous Norway’s newspapers – “Morgenbladet”. Also, he used to teach type design at the HAW University in Hamburg and regularly takes part as a speaker in different conferences, held in Germany.
His newest creation – the contemporary Haptic Script is a very fresh looking brush typeface with pronounced vintage appearance. It is designed with the aim to complement the awarded Haptic typeface (Heptic was awarded in 2008 at the TDC Typeface Design Competition) and to extend it with its unique individual appearance. This decorative script with its perfect swashes immediately creates positive feelings of joy, pleasance and friendliness. As such Haptic script will be very suitable when used for signage, logos, headlines, advertising, greeting cards, posters etc, as with it the catching of people’s attention is guaranteed.
Haptic Script is supplied in 5 different weights – Light, Regular, Semibold, Bold and Black. Each glyph comes with the stunning 14 variants. This, together with the more than 40 ligatures counts more than 2000 characters! Quite a range of choices, isn’t it?! On top of that, Henning Skibbe provided different swash characters as well as OpenType features like Contextual Alternates, OldStyle and Tabular figures, Stylistic Sets, etc. There is also a vast language support for more than 70 languages.
