Heimat Didone is the newest font family by the German designer Christoph Dunst. It is created as a part of the well known and quite large Heimat Collection that includes also Heimat Sans, Heimat Mono, Heimat Stencil. Basically, it is a Serif font of high contrast the inspiration of which can be traced back to the late 1920s. It is a modern font, designed to fulfill the needs of the present time and is quite suitable for vast range of applications especially in posters, headlines and anything that requires the immediate catching of people’s attention.

As a modern font family Heimat Didone provides an enormous type of choices for the potential users. It comes with the astonishing 872 glyphs in 72 styles with one of them being a demo version that will give the clients the opportunity to experience the typeface. On top of that an alternative alphabet is supplied in case the font is found too extreme for some designs. All kinds of OpenType features are provided too – positive and negative circled figures, lining figures, hanging figures, ligatures, alternate glyphs, superiors and inferiors, fractions as well as extensive language support.

It is easy to say that it is another successful project for Heimat Didone’s author Christoph Dunst and his Atlas Font Foundry. Since his graduation from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague, The Netherlands, Christoph has released a lot of premium quality fonts, most notably his Novel font family that was awarded with the Certificate of Excellence in Type Design by the Type Directors Club and was nominated by the German Ministry of Economy and Technology for the Design Prize of Germany 2010.
