Milroy Upright SG font is the new digitalized version of the exciting vintage font Oliphant that was designed by the German immigrants in the United States Max Rosenow and Julius Schmol back in 1895. The script was created for the famous American Barnhart Brothers & Spindler type foundry best known for its innovative work. The original font was later renamed Advertisers Upright Script. The new version – Milroy Upright SG keeps the most characteristic features of the first version such as the extended letters that are round and swollen and the swell shaded strokes that are somehow rude in their finish but at the same time add many modern alternatives. As a contemporary font Milroy Upright SG is available in OpenType format and provides many extras such as old style figures, stylistic alternates and discretionary ligatures. However, the most important thing about this typeface is the calligraphic vintage appearance that will bring a big dose of eccentricity and elegance to any kind of typographic work especially in headlines, signboards, T-shirt designs, logos, posters, greeting cards, all kinds of invitations, etc.

Milroy Upright SG font is released by Spiece Graphics type foundry. It is a typical work for its founder Jim Spiece whose main interest lies into researching and reviving old fonts. And, judging by the Milroy Upright SG, he is obviously very good at that!
