Powder Script – the latest attractive brush-like typeface is about to conquer the world of typography. What we first see here is that we have something rare for scripts – a family of three weights – Regular, Bold and Black. This is unusual for a script because it is difficult to be done, but it is very useful on the other hand because now we have a choice of three contrast levels in our typography… and even more – being very playful and diverse, Powder Script has implemented less artistic version of block small caps letters that make your text more tight and compact when necessary. They also make a perfect combination when used with regular lower and upper case letters which are more vivid, live and fresh. Another great feature is OpenType accessible set of swashed alternates, ligatures, multilingual support, etc.
All in all every weight has 800 characters that will surely make you think you are in Heaven of typography when you use them – it’s never been easier and it’s really changing your work and creative process for good. To make the whole picture finished Fenotype has added two extra fonts – one for ornaments and the other for patterns – both are perfect complement to the whole family.
To finish our short review, we have to pay special attention to another great feature of Powder Script – the Legibility. As we said, it is very artistic and playful but at the same time it has wide enough apertures, smooth outlines and excellent contrast which make it perform excellent on screen or printed on paper. Even in smaller texts Powder Script preserves its readability and artistic character which makes it ideal for e-books, games and apps as well as for attractive t-shirts and posters, food packaging, branding and logo design.
