Showcase font by Daniel Hernández and Paula Nazal Selaive (Latinotype foundry) is a comprehensive handmade font family consisting of a set of typefaces that are composed of four styles: one script, one sans, a slab, sans mini and finally a set of ornaments and dingbats, all made to work together in the same language. It’s inspired by a pen that writes different typefaces and ornaments, and casually reaches into a harmonious family. Creating a font collection like this means a lot of work, but the result is always amazing – Latinotype have actually created a typographic environment allowing you to pick from several fonts sharing same style so you could be truly satisfied from the diversity they give. The Showcase collection is a real workhorse if you design magazines, menus, showcase signage, greeting cards, food packaging and a lot of other things you could think of. It’s really great that Latinotype had spent a lot of time on OpenType compatibility – Showcase will give you enough of this if you use the right software. Enhanced legibility is another great feature that goes with every style in the family – well balanced contrast, smooth curves and wide apertures are working together for excellent performance in small text sizes even in difficult print situations and for exceptional quality when used on screen in mobile apps, e-books or web-sites.

 

 

Paula Nazal Selaive is a graphic designer focused on typeface design. She was born in Los Angeles, a small town in southern Chile.

Latinotype is a digital type foundry established in the year 2007 by Daniel Hernández and Luciano Vergara in the city of Concepción, Chile. They design new typefaces remixing diverse influences related to South American identity (most often known as “latino”) with high quality products for the contemporary design industry.
