Streetscript Redux font
Streetscript Redux font by Dave Rowland (Schizotype foundry, check also his Urge Text font, Gelato Script font, Ollie font, etc.) is a remastering of the 2012 MyFonts’ Rising Star typeface called Streetscript). The original Streetscript font – a chubby, uprightish baseball script experienced a long and happy life, full of interesting type design applications, far beyond the range of anticipated uses. But there was a little black spot on the sun – the letter ‘s’. It seemed that a lot of users didn’t like the s’s in the font, and after seeing some of the users’ variations of the theme, the font designer decided to regain the initiative.
The Streetscript Redux font’s ‘s’ is completely redesigned, it’s no longer so peculiar, ambivalent, and ‘five-like’ as the original. All other features of the original Streetscript font are intact (barring a couple of s-ligatures no longer necessary). There’s been a little tweaking of some outlines, and slight changes with spacing, too.
