TDL Ruha Hairline font
TDL Ruha Hairline font by the Portuguese graphic & type designers Aprígio Morgado, Ricardo Santos, Rúben Dias (Tipos Das Letras type foundry) is a modern serif typeface, first of the Ruha family. It emerged as a result in the design process of the RUHA stencil project.
The TDL Ruha Hairline font concept derives from the mechanical geometry of the Roman du Roi, a font commissioned by Louis XIV of France and developed by a committee appointed by the Académie des Sciences. Its main typographic features are related to the modern Didot and Bodoni typefaces. Maintaining the same structure with different typographical and stylistic properties, the stencil allows to explore a modern typeface, with vertical stress, high contrast between the thick and thin strokes and hairline serifs.
TDL Ruha Harline font comes in two variations: TDL Ruha Harline Semi-Bold and TDL Ruha Latin Semi-Bold. Both feature OpenType options like Stylistic Alternates. Proportional Lining, Proportional OldStyle, etc.
Tipos das Letras (TdL) is an independent digital type foundry, created in 2013 by Apr’gio Morgado, Ricardo Santos and Rúben Dias. This project, based in Lisbon, Portugal, was born from the RUHA Stencil, and aims to create, produce and commercialize some of its typographic products.
