Zega Text is a modern sans serif font family that is designed by the Brazilian graphic designer Isac Rodrigues. It has its roots deeply embedded in the craft of the letterpress printing – an undying source of inspiration for generations of type designers. It had dominated the printing process for more than 5 centuries – from its invention by Johannes Gutenberg in the middle of the 15th century till the development of the offset printing in the 20th century. In fact, the letterpress publishing is undergoing a remarkable revival especially in the UK, USA and Canada with the interest in it rapidly growing. As for Zega Text – if we are to be precise we should note that the typeface was inspired not merely by the letterpress printing itself, but by its imperfections. It is as clean, elegant and friendly as you can imagine and sports great legibility. It can be used with great success for both text and headlines depending on the style.
Zega Text comes in 14 versions – 7 weights from normal to heavier each with its respective Italics. Also, there is a free trial font – Text Semibold TTF, that will give a very good idea to anybody interested in this typeface. There are plenty of OpenType features provided for better result, such as oldstyle and tabular figures, superiors and inferiors, alternates, ligatures, localized forms, fractions, ordinals and many more. The language support is quite rich too – Western European, Baltic, Central European, Turkish languages.
Zega Text font family is designed by the Brazilian designer Isac Rodrigues and is published by his isaco type foundry. This is another great release after the Destra font of 2015 and Basel Neue and Cantiga typefaces of 2014.
