Comspot is a modern typeface with a very interesting history behind its creation. Initially it was designed as a custom typeface for CPN Cooperation Network GmbH – a large software and hardware reseller and its partner Comspot. Gradually it was extended to suit the demands of the public and now it is finally available for general sell. This typeface is very clean and elegant with some if its forms suggesting a monospace origin. However, the typeface is brilliantly balanced and although it has a distinctive technical focus, the font family offers friendly and human touch too. Nils Thomsen – the Comspot font’s designer achieved that by making the typeface subtly rounded which greatly contributes to the font’s readability. Also, the typeface’s figures require special mention as they are really very interesting and masterfully drawn. All in all, Comspot could be used very successfully for advertising, longer texts, product packaging, posters and billboards, websites and many more.
The font family comes in two versions – Comspot and Comspot Tec. Both of them provide nine weights – Hairline, Thin, Extra Light, Light, Regular, Medium, Bold, Black and Ultra with more than 870 glyphs per weight. But the typeface offers plenty more – an abundance of OpenType features like tabular figures, fractions, superscript, contextual alternates, support for more than 90 languages, more than 30 pictograms and icons, as well as dingbats and geometric shapes.
