Conto Slab font
Conto Slab font by Nils Thomsen (Nils Types foundry) is a unique, rich and handsome Slab Serif typeface, the next member of the Conto family. Similarly to the Conto the new Conto Slab Serif is intended mainly for advertising, corporate identity, editorial design, and logotype. Its wealth is expressed in the 18 different variations (8 weights: from Thin to Black, 8 true italics, and the two FREE demo options: Regular, and Regular Italic), in the great variety of glyphs and specially designed ligatures.
The fonts at the both ends of the Conto Slab weight spectrum such as the delicate Thin and the mighty Black work perfectly for display purposes (especially combined together), while the “middleweights” (i.e. Regular, Medium and Bold) score big in text blocks and tables.
The Conto Slab font family features increasing stroke contrast in proportion to the weight (hardly noticeable in the Thin but more pronounced approaching the Black). Another remarkable feature is the large amount (around 100) of specially designed logotype-oriented discretionary ligatures like ‘cl’, ‘en’, ‘rx’ or ‘sty’, etc. Each Conto Slab font relies on an extensive character set, containing around 850 glyphs, comprehensive language support, and a plenty of OpenType functions (available in some of the styles).
Both Conto Slab and Conto Sans work in perfect unison and have the adequate instruments for a serous typography and ambitious projects.
