Mestre font by Tipotecture – a perfect choice for longer texts
Mestre is the second font family released by the Spanish designer Pedro Arilla after his free debut – Valentina. It is inspired by German and Dutch geometric sans-serifs and is a very fine combination of a humanist structure and a rational construction. Mestre font offers solid shapes, open forms, large x-heights and balanced proportions, which leads to it having a very neutral and discreet appearance. As a result, the typeface is very legible, flexible and reliable, thus answering the ever growing modern typographic needs both on screen and on paper. Mestre will be a perfect choice for many editorial and corporate projects, but it is obvious that it is best suited for longer texts especially in smaller sizes, as everything about it suggests pleasant and comfortable reading.
Mestre font family includes 16 fonts in 8 weights – Hairlane, Thin, Light, Regular, Medium, Bold, Black, Heavy, all with their correspondent Italics. Each font offers none less than 900 glyphs and extended character set that supports Western, Central and Eastern European languages. Plenty of very useful OpenType features are provided too – small caps, scientific superior/inferior figures, lining, case-sensitive forms, tabular & old-style figures, fractions, a set of arrows, etc.
Mestre font family as well as Pedro Arilla’s debut font Valentina are very good sign of what we can expect in the future from this designer. We very much hope that his next works will appear really soon.
