It is always a great pleasure to follow the work of a real professional. To find out where his ideas and inspirations come from, how are they shaped and realized and what the final product is. Such is the case with Alejandro Paul who never stops to surprise and excites us with his great fonts. This time the idea behind his last release – Prangs font family, came from the very fertile typographic soil of the 19th century and namely from the works of the American printer, lithographer and publisher Louis Prang who is often referred to as the father of the American Christmas card. Alejandro Paul found his inspiration in one of his many books that included series of display alphabets for wide range of specialists. One of them, a high – contrast Didone, named just Italic, caught Alejandro’s attention, as it was a perfect mix of classic calligraphy and modern typography. So, the work begun and soon the idea got its beautiful shapes.

Prangs family includes three all Italics fonts – Light, Regular and Black with each of them containing more than 1300 glyphs and a character set to support languages based on the Latin alphabet as well as a lot of OpenType features. There are plenty of features that make Prangs unique but most of all its great swashes, frisky ligatures and playful endings. With its wonderful look that could cheer everyone up, it is perfectly suited for branding, packaging, invitations and greeting cards, magazines, covers, etc.

Prangs font family is another addition to Ale Paul’s formidable collection of fonts. You can see more of them by following these links:
