Eponymous is a modern typeface that instantly draws attention with its great spirit. It will immediately get you back to the glory days of the monstrous rock bands Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath. In fact, this typeface is a bit like their music – a nice mixture between Bonzo Bonham’s heavy drums, the romantic voice of Robert Plant and the mastership of Jimmy Page and Tony Iommi. You will find Eponymous as likeable, pleasant, stylish and versatile as their art. This typeface possesses the same deep meaning as the music of those great musicians.
Technically, Eponymous is an Egyptian style font family that is distinctive with its chunky slab serifs and ball terminals. It comes in five weights in both Roman and Italic, each containing more than 550 glyphs. Among the extras are a full set of European characters, a full small caps set, that could be mixed with the regular lowercase and some stylistic alternates that will allow the users to change some of the main characters that are not quite suitable. With its great appearance and high legibility, Eponymous font family will be perfect for branding and logo design, music related items, all kinds of inscriptions, posters, etc.
Eponymous font family is a brainchild of the Irish freelance designer Paulo Goode. It is another great release after his formidable Carrig typeface. These two fonts clearly show us what 15 years of experience mean. We can only wish that Paulo’s next release will come sooner than later.
