Erazm is the debuting font of the Poland based type designer Justyna Sokolowska. Erazm is a tight, condensed sans serif display typeface developed in a family of 4 fonts featuring Light and Regular style (which is actually closer to Bold weight) each coming with corresponding italics. It is a modern reply to a typeface frequently used in Polish books from the 30s of the past Century – now looking stylish, polished and rounded with very specific decorative details shining with new own beauty. Erazm’s Regular style is recommended mostly for display use like titles, posters, signboards, etc., while the Light might be successfully used for text needs like text columns, taglines, subtitles, etc. Another great idea for using the Regular is to apply textures and shadows – for example an eroded version might be easily created and it will surely become well-received. Additionally you will be able to access a bunch of OpenType features like alternates, ligatures, multilingual characters, etc.
All in all it’s a nice family, strong and prominent uprights with very interesting and provocative italics – a perfect combination for successful design. Enjoy!
