Henderson Slab – the history of slab serif in one font
Download Henderson Slab
Henderson Slab is a modern slab serif font family that is based on a number of bold caps, drawn by the Belgian diplomate, politician and man of letters Albert Du Bois, published in the 1906 Henderson Sign Painter book. Those letters were a perfect example of how the slabs were incorporated in the sign painting in the post-industrial revolution era. It was enough to prompt Alejandro Paul – the Henderson Slab designer, to make a thorough research and finally to come up with a very intriguing font family of his own- one that conveys the feeling of the beginning of 20-th century in the beginning of the 21-st.
Henderson Slab font family is very interesting with the fact that it comprises all the history of the slab serifs in the last century – from the manual humanist origins thru the swashed forms of the phototypesetting period to the alternates of the modern digital era.
