Intercom is a contemporary sans serif font family that immediately grips our attention with its simple and plain shapes. In fact, everything about this typeface is as simplest as possible – the letterforms, the punctuation marks, the figures, etc. It is easily explainable, if we take into account the fact that Intercom is a display font, designed exclusively for editorial and corporate design purposes and mostly for newspaper headlines, for which it will be a perfect tool. The typeface offers solid, workhorse type appearance that is achieved by employing tall x-height and very short ascenders and descenders. The letterforms are very open and have visible stroke –contrast. Indeed it is exactly the lack of anything superfluous that provides the Intercom font’s uniqueness in the sea of the modern sans serifs.

Intercom typeface consists of 10 fonts in five weights – Light, Regular, Medium, Semibold and Bold. Each weight offers a very interesting optically corrected oblique Italic. There are 390 glyphs per weight with the numerals deserving special mention due to their interesting forms. Once again, they are very simple in design, being as tall as the uppercase letters but slightly narrower than them.

Intercom font family is designed by the French type designer Jérémie Hornus and is published by Indian Type Foundry. For more of his work, please, follow the links:
