LCT Sbire is a contemporary serif typeface that is based on the typographic models of the past. It is a result of extensive study and knowledge of old style typefaces. The idea behind this font family was to combine several vintage patterns in order to produce a highly readable typeface that could be used regularly. Quentin J. Stavinsky – the designer of the font family goes as far back as 15th century to achieve this goal. He employs several very interesting approaches while designing the letterforms like the specific angle of the round letters. Some very funny elements were added too to contribute to the typeface’s individual look. One thing that deserves special attention – the beautiful serifs that have been specially designed in order to make the reading of the lower case easier. The overall appearance of LCT Sbire is quite elegant with highly pronounced human touch. It makes the font family perfect for both display and longer text purposes as well as for edition.

LCT Sbire comes in five different weights – Regular, Bold, their respective Italics and LCT Sbire Demo which is free and is provided with the intention to give the users the opportunity to ‘taste’ the type family.

As it has already been mentioned above LCT Sbire font family is designed by the French type designer Quentin J. Stavinsky and is released by the Nantes based LCT type foundry. A relatively new project (founded in 2013) LCT (La Casse Typographique) is remarkable with the passion and flare of their work. Here is another nice example of it: LCT Palissade font.
