Mela by Resistenza
Mela is a contemporary handwritten typeface that is inspired by the urban style of the present days and more precisely – by the graffiti that are all around us. Indeed, Mela was meant to look exactly like modern graffiti but in the process of its creation it became clear that the script will turn out to be much more fancy and stylish due to its calligraphic roots. It is exactly this combination of influences between the modern urban style and the calligraphic aesthetics that gives the typeface its own personality. Mela font is created using a pointed brush and is distinctive with its slanted letters, beautiful sharp strokes and high contrast. All in all, it evokes very positive feelings and will add strong human touch to every project. When talking about projects, we should say that Mela font is more than suitable for shorter texts and headlines. It could be used with great success in advertising, branding, editorials, packaging, posters, and websites and even in movies and on the TV.
Mela comes in two variants – Regular and Pro. Whereas Regular contains only letters, figures and punctuation, Mela Pro in particular offers 473 glyphs including ligatures, icons, alternates and ornaments. The abundance of those OpenType features allows the users to customize their projects without any limits.
Mela typeface is released by the well-known Resistenza type foundry. It is another example of the great quality of the work of the foundry’s founders – Giuseppe Salerno and Paco Gonzalez.
