Tuna font family is the latest release by the award winning German type designer Felix Braden. This time he teams up with his colleague Alex Rütten to design a typeface that, above all, is a perfect tool for cross-media use. Tuna is a great example that a very good contemporary typeface can be based on the good old fashioned values of constancy and stability. And Tuna’s forms are exactly like that – precise, clear, solid and highly legible with defined shapes and distinctive details that are best visible in the larger sizes. Another great advantage of this typeface is that extra effort was made to optimize it for on screen use, which means that with it reading longer texts on your mobile device or laptop will no longer be a challenge but a pure fun. All this makes Tuna font family a perfect choice for wide range of projects from editorial design to advertising.

Tuna font family comes in five weights – Light, Normal, Medium, Bold and Heavy, each with its respective Italics, which accounts to 10 styles altogether. There are over 700 glyphs per every font. In order to offer all the qualities necessary to meet the requirements of the modern communication, Tuna has plenty of extras – Standard ligatures, Small Caps, Tabular figures, Old-style figures, Superscript, Subscript, Arbitrary fractions, etc. As can be expected, the language support is quite rich too – Tuna supports all Western-, Eastern- and Central-European languages.

It is obvious that Felix Braden and Alex Rütten invested all their skills and knowledge in Tuna. The typeface took 3 years to complete, which alone gives you the idea of the amount of effort and attention to detail it required.
