Objectiv font by Dalton Maag type foundry is a very successful attempt to create a contemporary geometric sans serif typeface that takes into consideration the fact that it will be used by humans. For centuries the geometric fonts have been evolving and developing in order to achieve the perfect forms and the perfect proportions between height and width with the ultimate goal being the maximum functionality. However, it gradually became clear that the secret lies not only in the pure geometry itself but mainly in the harmony of the proportions that helps making those kind of fonts pleasing to the human eye. Obviously, that is exactly the principle that Bruno Mello – Objectiv’s designer, follows. It is evident that there are a lot of mathematical calculations in this font’s forms but harmony leads the way. The end result is well conformable with the human perception and is very suitable for wide range of applications like books, posters, headlines and subheads, reports, etc.

When we talk about possible applications we must pay special attention to the styles and weights Objectiv font is provided in. Bruno Mello supplies three styles that reflect the way human eye works. Mk1 is the classical geometric variant that is created for display purposes whereas Mk2 and especially Mk3 are the ones with the higher legibility suitable for longer texts. Each separate style comes in 7 weights – from Thin to Black with their respective Italics. Such a great variety will undoubtedly help achieving a very wide range of typographic goals.

Objective font is a part of the ever expanding collection of the famous London based Dalton Maag type foundry and is designed by the Brazilian designer Bruno Mello. You can see more of the foundry’s magnificent fonts by following these links:
