Pitos typeface is a modern handwritten font family that is named after one of the iconic items of the ancient Mediterranean. This large ceramic storage container is one of the symbols of the early stages of history in that area. It had a central role in the ancient storage and trade and was used even for funerals. According to the legends it was a pithos in which the famous Diogenes of Sinope lived and also the infamous Pandora’s Box was a pithos too. Whatever the truth, the mere size and the rich decoration of those containers meant that their making required very special and advanced skills. It was exactly that kind of skills that the Turkey based designer Ahmed Altun used to create his Pitos typeface.

It is obvious that creativity was not spared during the Pitos font family design process. The irregular flow of the letters and the wider space between them give the typeface a pronounced individual appearance. To make things even better, Pitos family comes in three different fonts – Deco, Sans and Serif which can work very well on their own but will give you their best when combined. Also, there is a set of very nice looking and useful Extras provided which are easy to reach on the keyboard and will add elegance to any work. With all these, the users will be able to realize different projects especially when a great level of originality is sought for. Pitos font family could be a perfect choice for posters, T-shirt design, logos, magazine covers, advertisements, brochures, placards, labels, etc.

As it was mentioned above, Pitos font family is the latest release of Ahmed Altun after the success of his Tropen and Harman typefaces. However, he has even more great fonts under his belt, as you can see here:
