Loew font by Jonathan Hill (The Northern Block Ltd type foundry) is a geometric low contrast Sans Serif family following the traditions in the 1920s-30s industrial design and the Bauhaus movement. The pure geometry and mechanical shapes of the letters are accurately processed in order to be optically perfect, functional, and legible both at large and small point sizes. Loew typeface is multipurpose tool for a wide range of design projects: posters, magazines, packaging, etc.
Loew font family comes in 8 weights (from Thin to Black) and the upright Loew Heavy is FREE! All eight weights are accompanied by their italics. The whole family consists of over 800 glyphs with alternative lowercase a, e and g. Available are OpenType features such as oldstyle numbers, true small caps with accents, ligatures, alternates, and many others. Multilingual support is also provided.
Jonathan Hill is UK graphic and art designer. The list of his clients include R02, Universal Music, EMI and Azuli Records. In 2006 he established The Northern Block type foundry with the aim of producing clean, geometric typefaces targeted at the convergence media users.
