Skill is the latest font released by the Argentine master of type design Maximiliano Sproviero. Once again it is like a lecture on the type design with the topic this time being brush calligraphy. Maximiliano uses his great experience to present us with a brush script that is a proof of the fact that the perfect results come with plenty of practice. The most important thing about this script is that it captures the soul of the pointed brush calligraphy and the freedom it gives. And this freedom comes together with a lot of passion, movement and expressiveness. On top of that, Skill font is as sweet, sexy and wild as you can imagine. It can be used with a great success in different kinds of projects like book covers, T-shirts, tattoos, music and fashion related items, posters, magazines, etc.
When talking about freedom and movement, we should immediately note the great amount of time and effort Maximiliano spent to make sure that this font provides them both. In order to achieve that, he designed plenty of ligatures and alternates per glyph that can be accessed using OpenType savvy software.
This can be done best using the Skill style, which is the most complete one. The other style – Skill Standard provides better legibility at the expense of less ligatures and only basic alphabet.
Skill font is another great example of what Maximiliano Sproviero is capable of.
